The Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning the Camp David Summit No:127 - July 26, 2000

Turkey regrets that the Camp David Summit which started on 11th July 2000 by the mediation of the President Bill Clinton and with the participation of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and the leader of the Palestinian National Authority Yaser Arafat ended without an agreement satisfactory for both sides.

Turkey considers the Middle East Peace Process as an opportunity to establish a durable and just peace in the region and welcomes the developments towards this goal. Turkey does not want the Peace Process to be delayed and wishes the process to reach a conclusion by constructive steps to be taken in the future. With this understanding Turkey desires that the parties resume their negotiations as soon as possible and solve their disputes in a peaceful manner.
