NO:104 - 11 June 2008, Press Release Regarding the International "Conference in Support of Afghanistan”
The Government of France will host the “International Conference in Support of Afghanistan” on 12 June 2008, in Paris. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Babacan, will lead the Turkish delegation at the Conference.
At the Conference, a political evaluation of developments in Afghanistan will be made; the “Afghanistan National Development Strategy”, prepared to lay out the main targets and responsibilities of Afghanistan in the field of socio-economic development will be presented to the international community; and also topics related to increasing the efficiency and coordination of international support to Afghanistan will be discussed.
In this context, our commitment to continuing our contributions to the establishment of security and stability, as well as reconstruction in Afghanistan will be reaffirmed.
