We, the Foreign Ministers of Mexico, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Türkiye and Australia – comprising MIKTA – are deeply saddened by the loss of lives and injuries as well as the destruction caused by the powerful earthquakes that struck southern Türkiye on February 6.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We stand in full solidarity with the people and the Government of Türkiye. Our profound sympathy also goes to the people of Syria who were likewise affected by the catastrophe.
