No:41, 8 February 2017, Press Release Regarding The Visit Of H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of The Republic Of Turkey, To Ukraine On The Occasion Of The Fifth Meeting Of The Joint Strategic Planning Group Between Turkey And Ukraine

H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will pay a visit to Ukraine on 9-10 February 2017 on the occasion of the Fifth Meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group, functioning under the High Level Strategic Council between Turkey and Ukraine.

During the meeting to be co-chaired by Minister Çavuşoğlu and his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin, all dimensions of Turkish-Ukrainian bilateral relations at the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties will be reviewed, and new cooperation opportunities will be discussed.

Furthermore, the two sides will have a comprehensive exchange of views on current regional and international issues with a special emphasis on the situation of Crimean Tatars as well as the recent developments in eastern regions of Ukraine.

A “Plan for Consultations” between the two Ministries will be signed following the talks.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu will be received by the Ukrainian leadership and come together with the Crimean Tatar, Meskhetian and Gagauz community representatives during his visit. He will also meet with Head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ambassador (R) Ertuğrul Apakan.
