Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu paid an unofficial visit to Crete/Greece on 28 August 2016 upon the invitation of Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias of Greece. During the visit, bilateral relations and regional issues were discussed. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also expressed his thanks to Greece for showing solidarity and support after the heinous coup attempt.
