The Fourth Meeting of the Turkish-Russian High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) was held in St. Petersburg on November 22, 2013.
During the HLCC meeting, co-chaired by Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister of Turkey and Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of Russian Federation, all aspects of the relations between Turkey and Russia were addressed and views were exchanged on main regional and international issues of mutual concern, particularly on Syria.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Prime Minister Erdoğan stated that the developments between Turkey and Russia in the last years have reached a point where several countries envy and emphasized that the cooperation in various fields continues to increase day after day. Prime Minister Erdoğan pointed out that the bilateral trade volume has reached 35 billion dollars and it is aimed to increase the trade volume up to 100 billion dollars in 2020.
Following the meeting, five agreements concerning the cooperation in the field of energy, customs and information were signed.
Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Zafer Çağlayan, Minister of Economy, Mr. Taner Yıldız, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Ömer Çelik, Minister of Culture and Tourism and Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs and Communication also participated in the HLCC meeting.
