Sudanese Foreign Minister is paying an official visit to Turkey

Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Ahmet Davutoğlu met with Foreign Minister of Sudan Ali Karti who is paying an official visit to Turkey on 25 April 2014.

In the meetings which were conducted between H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, and his Sudanese counterpart, the opportunities for developing political, economic and commercial cooperation on the basis of the friendly and fraternal relations rooted in the common history between Turkey and Sudan were discussed, in addition to the current regional and international issues.

Speaking at the joint press conference held after the meetings, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu stressed that the relations between Sudan and Turkey has a deep-rooted history. Within the context of bilateral relations, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu stated that they are working on a very important Project and said “Within the framework of Tigem Project, we made a decision to develop agricultural projects in wide agricultural lands which are provided with technological and financial assistance by Turkey. We reviewed the current stage in this project.” Foreign Minister Davutoğlu underlined that this Project will reinforce the friendship and the fraternal relations between the two countries.

On the other hand, Sudanese Foreign Minister Karti stated that Sudan regards Turkey as a “big brother” and said “Turkey’s regional power will lead Turkey as well as our country to better positions.”
