Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is visiting Qatar to review preparations for the Seventh Meeting of the Türkiye-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee.

On 6 December, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani of Qatar.

Following the meeting, a joint press conference was held.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that they had reviewed the preparations for the 7th Meeting of the Supreme Strategic Committee and discussed regional issues such as Afghanistan, Libya and Syria. In addition, Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that we were deepening our cooperation with Qatar in all fields including defence, economy, education, culture and health.

Later on the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with the former Prime Minister Riyad Hijab of Syria and discussed the latest developments in Syria.
