On 7 February 2022, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had a meeting in Istanbul with Khalid al-Mishri, President of the High Council of State of Libya.

During the meeting, they discussed ensuring unity in Libya and holding elections on a constitutional basis.
