Visit of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Pakistan to attend the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, 18-19 December 2021

At the end of the Third Türkiye-Africa Partnership Summit on 18 December 2021, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu travelled to Pakistan together with his collegues Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu from TRNC, Pacome Moubelet-Boubeya from Gabon, Mamadou Tangara from The Gambia, David John Francis from Sierra Leone and Abdisaid Muse Ali from Somalia, to attend the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Meeting.

Minister Çavuşoğlu first held a meeting in Islamabad with Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan on 19 December 2021, and discussed the developments in the Caucasus. Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that we would continue to act together at every stage of the normalization in our region.

Then, Minister Çavuşoğlu participated in the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC on the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, and underlined the need to increase our joint efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi of Afghanistan on the sidelines of the OIC Foreign Ministers Meeting, and discussed the current situation in Afghanistan.
