Diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Luxembourg were established in 1946. As two NATO allies, our bilateral relations with Luxembourg gained momentum with the opening of the Turkish Embassy in Luxembourg in 1987. Subsequently, the Embassy of Luxembourg in Ankara was opened on November 29, 2011.

Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg paid a state visit to Türkiye on 18-22 November 2013. This was the first visit of a Head of State from Luxembourg to Türkiye since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Erdoğan paid a visit to Luxembourg in November 2004 during his Prime Ministership.

The last official visit from Luxembourg to our country at the Foreign Minister level took place on 14-15 January 2019.
