Relations between Türkiye and Lithuania

Political Relations

Türkiye and Lithuania signed the “Friendship Agreement” on 17 September 1930. The occupation and annexation of Lithuania by the Soviet Union was never recognized by Türkiye. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, diplomatic relations between the two countries were re-established on 3 September 1991.

Türkiye's support for Lithuania's NATO membership and Lithuania’s support for Türkiye's EU membership process further strengthened our cooperation.

The last visit at Presidential level was made by President Gitanas Nauseda on 10 March 2023 to Türkiye. Lithuanian Foreign Minister paid a working visit to Türkiye on 13-14 July 2021.
