Relations between Türkiye and the Republic of Honduras have been limited
due to geographical distance and different foreign policy priorities of
both countries. However, a new era began after Türkiye’s observer
membership of the Central American Integration System (SICA) in February
2015 and the opening of the Embassy of Türkiye in Guatemala, which is
accredited to Honduras, in September 2015.

Türkiye-SICA Foreign Ministers II. Forum held in Istanbul on April 20,

The Republic of Honduras is Türkiye’s fourth trading partner in Central
America. A significant portion of exports from Türkiye to Honduras consists
of iron and steel products, machinery and machine parts, weapons and
ammunition, electrical devices, plastic and plastic derivatives. Textile
and tobacco products are the main elements of our imports from the Republic
of Honduras.
The trade volume between the two countries was approximately 177,1 million
USD (Türkiye’s exports: 166,4 million USD, Türkiye’s imports: 10,7 million
USD) by the end of 2021.
