The Turkish Embassy in the UAE was opened in 1979, following the foundation of the UAE in 1971, whereas the UAE opened its Embassy in Türkiye in 1983.

President Erdoğan visited the UAE in February 2024 on the occasion of our participation as the guest of honour at the “World Government Summit” held in Dubai.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid a visit to Türkiye on 16 July 2025. The first meeting of the Türkiye-UAE High Level Strategic Council, which had been established in 2023, was held during this visit.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited the UAE on 20 March 2026.
