Relations between Türkiye and North Macedonia

Political Relations:

Close relations and strong cooperation between Türkiye and North Macedonia derive from common history and culture. Mutual high-level visits are held at regular and frequent intervals. Türkiye is the very first state to recognize the North Macedonia with her constitutional name. Türkiye is also the first state to appoint an ambassador in Skopje.

Since her independence, Türkiye has resolutely supported territorial integrity, sovereignty and immutability of the borders of the Republic of North Macedonia. Türkiye also supports the preservation of North Macedonia’s unitary state structure as well as its multiethnic and multicultural character.

In parallel with the development of Türkiye-North Macedonia relations, there is an increase in bilateral contacts and visits between two countries.
