QA-32, 18 December 2013, Statement of the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in Response to a Question Regarding the Allegations in the Media about the Export of Arms and Ammunition to Syria from Turkey

Our policy on Syria is being carried out in a clear and transparent manner. With this understanding, our Ministry of Customs and Trade, our Ministry of National defense and the Turkish Statistical Institute have made the necessary statements to the public concerning the reports in our media that arms and ammunition have been exported to Syria from Turkey and shared the information on the issue in detail.

As was noted in these statements, the exports which have been referred to in the said reports consist of materials which do not qualify as weapons of warfare and do not contradict with either our international commitments and responsibilities or the restrictions which we introduced as a result of the current situation in Syria.
