In reports published by the Egyptian Ahram Online news agency and broadcast by El-Mehwar TV in the evening of 15 December, it was alleged that Port Said Security Authorities seized 1,500 Blank Firing Guns and a large quantity of ammunition in a container arriving from Turkey.

Such claims must be immediately investigated and the truth promptly revealed.

In this context, concrete information about the weapons and munitions that have allegedly been seized has been requested from the relevant Egyptian authorities through the Turkish Embassy in Cairo in order to launch an investigation.
