QA: 10, 29 May 2012, Statement of the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in Response to a Question

In the framework of the preparations for the Second Istanbul International Conference on Somalia, consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara with the delegation headed by the Speaker of the Transitional Federal Parliament of Somalia and which included also a representative of Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamaa, one of the other signatories of the Road Map. On the occasion of the consultations that took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, Turkey, confirming once more its support to Somalia on all areas such as the ones related to political, military issues and to economic development and humanitarian assistance, expressed that this policy is valid for the whole of Somalia and its people. During the consultations, Turkey also expressed its full support for the implementation of the outcomes of the Kampala Agreement, Road Map, Garowe I and II Principles, Galkoye Consultative Meeting and the Addis Ababa meeting held recently on 23-25 May 2012, which constitute the milestones in finding a solution to the Somali issue.
