It is stated in some press reports and comments that a Kurdish conference, suggested to be convened in Erbil, has been postponed as a result of the initiatives of Mr. Beşir Atalay, the Minister of Internal Affairs, during the Tripartite Mechanism meeting held in Baghdad on 11 April 2009.

The issue of Kurdish conference did not come up during the meeting held in Baghdad on 11 April and  therefore the news and comments to this effect do not reflect the truth.
