President of Azerbaijan, İlham Aliyev paid an official visit to Turkey on 15 January, 2015 upon the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

At the meetings, the results of the 4th Meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (YDSK) were discussed while the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two friendly and brotherly countries were reviewed. Furthermore, within the scope of the meetings, views were exchanged regarding the regional and international developments, which are of significance to both countries.

Speaking at the joint press conference held after the meetings, President Erdoğan stated that the strategic importance of the relations between the two countries will further increase with projects such as TANAP and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway and said “There is perseverance, determination and political will in both countries, we will succeed in our objectives”.
