No:172 - 17 September 2008, Press Release Regarding the Seminar on Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) and Non-Proliferation (Unofficial Translation)
A seminar on Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) and Non-Proliferation will be organised on 17-18 September 2008, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The seminar is held within the context of the Agreement Regarding Cooperation to Facilitate the Provision of Assistance for Nonproliferation Purposes, signed between Turkey and the United States of America, which has entered into force on 9 June 2008.



In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant authorities from the Turkish Armed Forces, Ministries, Undersecretaries and Agencies, as well as their counterparts from the USA will participate in the Seminar.



The Seminar will highlight the importance of effective export controls and will aim to enhance the already existing cooperation between Turkey and the USA in the field of non-proliferation.



The seminar is another proof of the importance attached by Turkey to the fight against proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, as well as to effective international cooperation.
