We strongly condemn the explosions that occurred yesterday (22 July) nearby the Prime Ministry and other Government buildings in Oslo and the shooting attack on young people at a Labour Party youth camp on the Utoya island shortly after.

We convey our condolences to the families of the victims who have lost their lives in these attacks which have deeply saddened our Government and the Turkish people and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

Turkey believes that the international community should be in solidarity in the fight against these kinds of terrorist attacks which target the lives of innocent people. In these difficult days, we would like to reiterate that we stand beside the people of Norway and the Norwegian Government who always advocate peace and friendship.
