The fire in the city of Ludwigshafen of the Federal Republic of Germany in which 9 of our nationals lost their lives and 60 persons were injured has caused great sorrow in both Turkey and Germany.

This regrettable incident is being treated by Turkey and Germany in cooperation. With this understanding, our Ambassador and two Consul Generals have conducted an examination at the site of the incident, and have shared their observations and concerns with the German authorities.

Our Ambassador is conducting his duties within international law and practice with the responsibility and care required.

In this respect, we express once more our deepest condolences to the families of our nationals who lost their lives, and wish speedy recovery to the injured.
