We have learned with great sorrow that 21 passengers lost their lives, 9 passengers were kidnapped and many people got injured in the armed attack perpetrated against a public bus on 12 March 2012 in the Gambella Region situated in the West of Ethiopia.

Turkey stands strongly against all kinds of terrorist acts, whatever its source, origin and target may be.

We extend our condolences to the Ethiopian state and people for this heinous attack targeting the peace and security of the Ethiopian people and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
