We have learned with deep sorrow that His Excellency Raminder Singh Jassal, the Ambassador of friendly India has passed away.

Since he assumed his position in 2008, Ambassador Jassal has made concrete and significant contributions towards furthering the relations between Turkey and India, to which we attach great importance, and has actively exerted effort aimed at preparing a sound basis for the relations between the two countries for the future.

We extend our condolences and deepest sympathies to the Government and people of India and to the members of his family, first and foremost to his spouse, Dr. Smita Tewari Jassal. Ambassador Jassal will always be remembered with appreciation and respect by us.

Ambassador Jassal has been bid farewell to India with a ceremony and onboard an official plane.
