We strongly condemn the attack that targeted the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Damascus yesterday (28 November) resulting in the death of a civilian and in many injuries. We offer our sincere condolences to the Russian Federation.

Such actions against innocent civilians and a diplomatic representation, regardless of their motive, are contrary to international law and cannot be condoned.

We hope that such attacks which deepen the conflict in Syria as well as the threats towards regional security and stability would not be repeated.
