No: 293, 19 December 2012, Press Release Regarding the Visit of H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, to Macedonia

H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will pay a visit to Macedonia on 20-21 December 2012 upon the invitation of H.E. Mr. Nikola Poposki, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Macedonia.

During his visit, in addition to the talks with his Macedonian counterpart, Mr. Nikola Poposki, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu will be received by H.E. Mr. Gjorge Ivanov, President of the Republic of Macedonia, will meet H.E. Mr. Trajko Veljanovski, Speaker of the Parliament and H.E. Mr. Nikola Gruevski, Prime Minister, will attend the ceremonies for the National Day of Turks of Macedonia and the Turkish Education Feast that has being celebrated in Macedonia since 1944, and will come together with the Turkish community of Macedonia on the occasion of various events.

Turkey attaches particular importance to its relations with friendly and brotherly Macedonia in the Balkans, and strongly supports Macedonia’s integration with the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.
