No: 233, 25 September 2016, Press Release Regarding the Intensified Attacks on Aleppo

We strongly condemn the intensified aerial attacks in the past several days by the regime in Syria and its supporters in and around Aleppo resulting in the deaths of over three hundred and wounding of hundreds of civilians.

The regime is ruthlessly massacring its own people with these attacks and targeting specifically the infrastructure, such as hospitals, water pumps and emergency response centers, where humanitarian needs are solely addressed.

These attacks, coming at a time when a group of countries - including Turkey - is sparing no effort to initiate a new ceasefire process, has once again shown that the regime and its supporters do not have any intention for a political solution in Syria. These actions are not only war crimes, but they also constitute a grave crime against humanity and a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
