No: 223, 01 December 2009, Press Release Regarding the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, will attend the NATO Foreign Ministers meeting in Brussels on 3-4 December 2009.

Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro’s applications for the Membership Action Plan, issues related to missile defense and Afghanistan as well as NATO-Russian relations and preparations of NATO’s new Strategic Concept will be high on the agenda. In the framework of the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting, NATO-Russia Council, NATO-Georgia Commission and NATO-Ukraine Commission will also convene at the Ministerial level. Additionally, a meeting with the participation of non-NATO ISAF contributing countries will be held. Minister Davutoğlu is also expected to have bilateral meetings with some of his counterparts.

Minister Davutoğlu will also attend the Transatlantic Dinner on 3 December, to be hosted by the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
