No: 212, 22 October 2025, Regarding the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice

The advisory opinion delivered today (22 October) by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the “Obligations of Israel in Relation to the Presence and Activities of the UN, Other International Organizations and Third States in and in Relation to the Occupied Palestinian Territory” clearly demonstrates the violations of law by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories in contravention with its international obligations.

The ICJ’s advisory opinion has shown that Israel’s continuous crimes against the Palestinian people as well as its obstruction of the delivery of humanitarian aid, and its targeting of UN facilities and personnel by not complying with its international obligations are in defiance of the international legal order.

The Court’s legal opinion further confirms that the Israeli government’s attempts to undermine the mandates, activities, and presence of the UN and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in the occupied territories are unlawful.

Türkiye has contributed to the proceedings at the ICJ through both written and oral submissions.

Türkiye will continue to stand with the Palestinian people in their just cause and will resolutely support efforts to ensure the effective implementation of international law and the restoration of justice.
