We have learned with deep sorrow that many people have lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attack that took place yesterday (10 November 2009) in the vicinity of a marketplace in the city of Charsadda in Pakistan. As in the case of other recent attacks, terrorism once again mercilessly targeted people who were trying to continue their daily lives. We deplore and condemn the attack in strong terms.

Turkey is in full solidarity with Pakistan. Cooperation among the members of the international community in the fight against terrorism is of critical importance. We have no doubt that brotherly and friendly Pakistan will be successful in its combat against terror.

Turkey wishes God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and swift recovery to the wounded ones and extends her condolences to the families of the victims.
