No: 206, 07 November 2009, Press Release Regarding the OIC Bosnia-Herzegovina Contact Group Meeting

At the OIC Bosnia-Herzegovina Contact Group Meeting, that was held in Ankara on 12 October 2009, the recent developments in Bosnia- Herzegovina were taken up, and it was decided that the next meeting will be held within the margins of the Standing Committee for Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (COMCEC) Summit.

To this end, the ICO Contact Group on Bosnia-Herzegovina hosted by the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu will convene in Istanbul on 9 November 2009. The Secretary General of the OIC H.E. Mr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu and the Member of the Council of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina H.E. Mr. Haris Slajdziç will be present at that meeting.

Turkey enjoys deep-rooted historic and cultural ties with Bosnia-Herzegovina. The preservation of territorial integrity, sovereignty and multi-ethnic structure of Bosnia-Herzegovina is of vital importance. Turkey considers Bosnia-Herzegovina as the key country for peace and stability in the Balkans.
