We have learned with deep sorrow that 37 Afghan civilians attending a wedding ceremony, most of which were women and children, lost their lives as a result of an air strike in Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan on November 5, 2008.



May Almighty God rest the souls of the deceased in peace. We also extend our sympathies to their families.



We expect an immediate finalization of the investigation process that has been initiated, finding out the persons who were responsible for this act, and the necessary precautions to be taken to avoid repetition of such incidents.
