No: 190, 17 October 2009, Press Release Regarding the Election of Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, to the Presidency Council and as the First Deputy President of Eurochambres

We are pleased to learn that Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), is elected to the Presidency Council and as the First Deputy President of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres).

“Eurochambres”, representing 19 million enterprises in Europe and the economic vast of 22 trillion dollars with its members from national chambers of 45 countries, is a highly influential organization in which the European economic policies are shaped. The prominent position of TOBB in Turkish economy will, doubtless, bring a new impetus and dynamism to the Eurochambres.

As extending wishes for success to Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu during this important duty, we would like to express that the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue in the future as before.
