The Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye and Greece, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay and Mr. Theoharis Theoharis, respectively, met on January 21, 2026 in Athens for the ninth round of discussions on the Joint Action Plan within the scope of the Positive Agenda between the two countries.
The Deputy Ministers welcomed the progress achieved to date within the scope of the Positive Agenda Joint Action Plan, which includes projects of common interest in the sectors of trade, economy, customs, tourism, transportation, innovation, science and technology, agriculture, environmental protection, social security and health, youth, education and sports, as well as business cooperation. It was noted that in addition to the successfully concluded items, satisfactory progress has also been achieved on several other items on the list.
The Joint Action Plan meetings also set the framework for the finalization of the relevant agreements that could be signed during the next High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC).
To further enhance the significant progress made in this dynamic and ongoing process, the two sides agreed to deepen the existing areas of cooperation and to explore the possibility of adding new agenda items within the context of the Positive Agenda.
