Foreword

Relations with Greece constitute one of the most important aspects of the Turkish Foreign Policy. Both countries are NATO allies and share the same geography and the common democratic values of the Western world.

At the same time, a period of rapprochement and dialogue prevails in Turkish-Greek relations since the second half of 1999. The relations between the two countries develop positively.

Despite these realities, several interrelated problems in the Aegean Sea exist between Türkiye and Greece most of which were inherited from the past and yet to be resolved.
