Foreign Minister Davutoğlu pays an official visit to Kazakhstan.

Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey paid an official visit to Kazakhstan between 26 and 28 April 2013.

As part of his contacts in Almaty, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu, together with Mr. Erlan Idrisov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan co-chaired the Joint Strategy Planning Group meeting of the Turkey-Kazakhstan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

Speaking at the joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart Foreign Minister Davutoğlu expressed his pleasure concerning the increasing visibility as well as the success story of Kazakhstan, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu emphasized that ways to further develop relations in the fields of transportation, energy and trade were addressed during the meeting.

Mentioning that the two countries continue to support each other in international arena and share their resources and opportunities with each other Foreign Minister Davutoğlu said “We have common historical background with Kazakhstan and we believe that the two countries will have a common future. We walk hand in hand towards the future.”


On the second day of his visit Foreign Minister Davutoğlu traveled to city of Turkistan and was awarded with Honorary Doctorate by Hoca Ahmet Yesevi University. Foreign Minister Davutoğlu also met with Meskhetian Turks.
