Speaking at the joint press conference held following the meeting, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu described Turkey-Tanzania relations as relations between “twin brothers”. Recalling that Turkey opened its embassy in Tanzania in 2009, he said that Turkey and Tanzania, though they are from different geographical regions set an example for the world with their relations.

Stating that Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) is doing a great job in Tanzania, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu said that the necessary steps to increase the mutual trade volume with Tanzania will be taken.

Touching upon the situation of Albinos in East Africa, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu said “Helping Albinos is our duty. As a result of misbeliefs, Albinos are pressured and isolated in the society. Therefore, Turkey will build a complex for Albinos. Turkey is ready to help Albinos in any way and our support will continue increasingly.”
