Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu accompanied Prime Minister Davutoğlu during his Saudi Arabia visit

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia on 29-31 January 2016. Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied Prime Minister Davutoğlu during his meetings in Riyadh.

Prime Minister Davutoğlu was received by the King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdulaziz and later headed meeting between delegations with the Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz. Within the scope of his visit to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Davutoğlu also received Saudi Arabia's deputy crown prince and the country's defence minister Muhammad bin Salman.

Having participated in the meeting in which Prime Minister Davutoğlu received a delegation of prominent Saudi investors, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also held a bilateral meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. Speaking at the joint press conference organized following the meeting, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said that bilateral relations and regional developments were discussed in the meeting. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also expressed his pleasure at the close cooperation existing between the two countries.

Speaking at the said joint press conference, Saudi Foreign Minister Al-Jubeir stated that in the meeting as well as current regional developments and counterterrorism efforts, High Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which was decided to be established during President Erdoğan’s last visit to Saudi Arabia, were discussed.
