Commercial and Economic Relations between Türkiye and the Netherlands

In 2021, bilateral trade volume in goods and services stood at 11 billion 273 million USD, with Turkish exports at 6.76 billion USD and imports at 4.50 billion USD. In 2022, our bilateral trade volume was 12 billion 526 million USD (Turkish exports: 8 billion 28 million USD, our imports from the Netherlands are 4 billion 497 million USD).

Main items of Türkiye’s exports to the Netherlands are vehicles for transporting goods, cars, station wagons, race cars and textiles, whilst main items of Türkiye’s imports from the Netherlands are iron and steel, scrap, polyacetals, other polyathers, epoxide, alkyd resins, oils obtained from petroleum and bituminous minerals, tractors.

In the period of 2005-2022, the Netherlands’ direct investment to our country reached 27 billion 345 million dollars. The Netherlands maintains its title as the country with the highest investment. In the 2005-2022 period, the amount of direct investment from Türkiye to the Netherlands reached 17.522 billion dollars.

Despite the global pandemic, 645,601 Dutch tourists visited Türkiye in 2021. In 2022, the number of tourists reached 1,244,756.
