Celebrations of the 600th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Turkey and Poland

The Third Meeting of the Polish and Turkish Committees, responsible for organizing celebrations of the 600th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Poland, took place in Warsaw on 9 December 2014. The meeting was co-chaired by Ambassador Murat Salim Esenli, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and Mrs. Henryka Mościcka-Dendys, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affair of the Republic of Poland.

During the meeting, the sides focused on the agenda of the celebrations of the 600th anniversary and provided information about the projects and the events they realized in 2014. The co-chairmen emphasized that both countries became more acquainted with each other as a result and the activities enhanced mutual accumulation of knowledge.

The sides expressed their gratitude to the high level state authorities, notably Presidents, Prime Ministers and Ministers of both countries for their support to the anniversary events. They underscored that their support reinforced the message of the celebrations and demonstrated the importance attached to the development of bilateral relations.

The co-chairmen emphasized that one of the main themes of anniversary celebrations was “600 Years and Beyond” and agreed to further solidify bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture, science, education and people to people relations. They reiterated that strengthening collaboration between Turkey and Poland will not only enhance the mutual awareness of both sides but also have a positive impact on the development of economic and commercial relations.
