We deeply regret that more than 50 people including women and children have lost their lives and a significant number of people were injured following a suicide bomb attack on 12th May 2003 in Znamenskoye/Chechnya. We have also learned with regret that a similar terrorist attack took place today in Ilıshkan-Yurt/Chechnya which cost the lives of about 20 innocent people.

As we have always stated, Turkey condemns every terror attack, whomever its perpetrator and whatever its cause might be.

On this occasion, we extend our condolences to the families of the victims and wish a rapid recovery to the wounded.
