The visit of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to New York for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly continues.

On 24 September 2019, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Ministers of Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon in the Quadripartite Forum.

At the Quadripartite Forum, as four neighboring countries deeply affected by the Syrian conflict, steps to be taken for safe and voluntary return of Syrians to their country were discussed.

On the same day Minister Çavuşoğlu participated in the High Level Meeting on Syria organized by the European Union.

As the world’s largest refugee hosting country, Minister Çavuşoğlu drew attention to more equitable burden and responsibility sharing with regard to Syrians who fled their country.

Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended as one of the co-hosts, the high-level side event organized by Bangladesh on Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we would keep contributing to international efforts for a lasting solution to the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar and also continue to provide humanitarian aid.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Forign Minister Ayman Safadi of Jordan, Foreign Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah of Namibia and Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Finally, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the Tripartite Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Russia and Iran in Astana format.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized the importance of the establishment of the Constitutional Committee in Syria and that the Committee should convene without delay.
