No: 187, 15 October 2009, Press Release Regarding the Visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoğlu will pay a visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina on 17-18 October 2009 and thereafter to the Republic of Albania on 18-19 October 2009.

It is envisaged that Minister Davutoğlu will meet Member of the Presidential Council Haris Silajdziç, High Representative Valentin Inzko and the leaders of the main political parties. During the talks in Bosnia-Herzegovina, bilateral relations between the two countries will be discussed and views will be exchanged on the ongoing constitutional reform process in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

During his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Minister Davutoğlu will open the “Yunus Emre Culture Center” and give a lecture at the “Ottoman Heritage and Muslim Communities in the Balkans” Conference to be held by “Balkans Civilization Center” (BAL-MED) and “Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency” (TİKA).

During his visit to Albania, Minister Davutoğlu will meet President Bamir Topi, Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilir Meta and the Speaker of Parliament Jozefina Topalli. At the meetings, regional and international issues of interest to both countries will be taken up.

Minister Davutoğlu will dwell upon the activities to be organized within our chairmanship-in-office of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), the unofficial Foreign Ministers Meeting of which has been done recently in İstanbul, at his talks with his counterparts in B-H and Albania, both of whom are members of this Process.
