Foreign Minister Bert Koenders of the Netherlands paid a working visit to Turkey on 28-29 August 2016 to express the solidarity of the Government of the Netherlands with Turkey following the coup attempt on 15 July. In the meetings during the visit, bilateral relations, the coup attempt and recent developments, Turkey-EU relations as well as regional and international issues were discussed. In this context, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined the importance of strengthening close cooperation with the Netherlands in the fight against terrorism to include FETO terrorist organization as well.
