Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo of Spain paid a visit to Turkey on 7 October 2016. In the meetings held during the visit, which was a concrete expression of the solidarity shown by the Government of Spain after the failed coup attempt, relations between Turkey and Spain as well as regional issues were discussed. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu and Foreign Minister Garcia-Margallo held a joint press conference after their talks.
