Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics of Latvia paid a visit to Turkey on 29 September 2016. This visit was a concrete expression of solidarity of the Latvian Government after the failed coup attempt on 15 July. In the meetings held during the visit, bilateral relations and regional issues were discussed. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu and Foreign Minister Rinkevics held a joint press conference after their meeting.
