Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey paid a visit to Germany on May 11-12, 2013.

On this occasion, the first meeting of Turkey - Germany Strategic Dialogue Mechanism was held under the co-chairmanship of Foreign Minister Davutoğlu and Guido Westerwelle, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany.

Following their meeting, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu and his German counterpart signed the joint declaration concerning the establishment of the Strategic Dialogue Mechanism. The Ministers also held a joint press conference.

Foreign Minister Davutoğlu pointed out that the meeting will open a historical chapter in the Turkish-German relations and Turkey wants to further deepen her relations with Germany in all fields. Referring to Turkish citizens living in Germany, “Relations between Turkey-Germany are not state to state but people to people relations” said Foreign Minister Davutoğlu.
