Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin of Tajikistan on 22 April 2019.

During the visit, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Archives between the Turkish and Tajik Foreign Ministries was signed.

Following the meetings, the two Ministers held a joint press conference. Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that to boost Turkey-Tajikistan relations, a favorable environment for investors would be provided, civil aviation would be developed and reciprocal cultural centers would be opened. Furthermore, Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized the determination to increase bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Tajikistan to $1 billion.
