Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Sudan on 16-17 August 2019 for the signing ceremony of the Constitutional Declaration covering arrangements of the Transitional Civilian Authority.

On 16 August 2019 Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that he brought the greetings and love of President Erdoğan and the Turkish nation to our brotherly Sudanese people.

Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Acting Foreign Minister Omer Dahab Mohamed of Sudan.

At the meeting Minister Çavuşoğlu congratulated Acting Foreign Minister Omer Dahab Mohamed for the political reconciliation in Sudan.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we are ready to further our cooperation projects once the new Government is formed.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Turkey would always stand by friendly and brotherly Sudan.

Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met also Abdel-Fatah Al-Burhan Head of Transitional Military Council of Sudan.

At the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu congratulated all sides for their common sense in the process of establishing the Transitional Civilian Authority.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey would continue to support the Sudanese Government and people for the stability and the security of Sudan.

Finally Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Turkish citizens living in Sudan.

On 17 August 2019, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with EU Term President and Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto of Finland.

At the meeting Minister Çavuşoğlu discussed Turkey-EU relations, Eastern Mediterranean, Syria and Sudan issues.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met also with Foreign Minister Tahir Siyala of Libya.

At the meeting Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized the importance of the peaceful settlement of the dispute in Libya.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that international community should display a united and principled stance to stop the clashes in Libya.

Finally, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the signing ceremony of the Constitutional Declaration, which covers arrangements concerning the Transitional Civilian Authority, between the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of Freedom and Change.

Minister Çavuşoğlu expressed his best wishes for the Sudanese people and his hope that peace will prevail in Sudan.
